05 Jul Maverick County Sub-Sheriff Station Making Progress
Maverick County Commissioner Precinct #4 Roberto Ruiz informed that a petition for a Sub-Sheriff Station is making progress. The petition, which Maverick County Judge David Saucedo and Sheriff Tom Schmerber support, requests 4 patrol units assigned 24/7, 2 additional units from 6 am to 6 pm, and a secretary to handle administrative duties from 8 am to 5 pm. The office would be located in the Loma Bonita sector.
There would be a provisional trailer serving as the base for the Sub-station at the Nick Carr Center. Additional surveillance support would be requested from the Border Patrol for emergencies, where Precinct #4 Constable Regalado would be collaborating.
County Commissioner Ruiz added that the sub-station would be ready in approximately six months, and would be located in a centric area south of the county, covering Precincts 1, 2 and 4.
